General Rules & Regulations
RPS College, Harnaut, Nalanda, follows a set of general rules and regulations designed to maintain discipline, ensure smooth functioning, and foster an environment conducive to academic excellence. All students, faculty, and staff are expected to adhere to these guidelines for the benefit of the entire college community.
Attendance and Punctuality
- Students are expected to maintain regular attendance in classes, practicals, and other academic activities. A minimum attendance of 75% is mandatory for eligibility to sit for the examinations.
- Students should be punctual for all classes and events. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter the class without permission from the concerned faculty.
Code of Conduct
- Students must maintain discipline and behave respectfully with faculty, staff, and peers both inside and outside the college premises.
- Any act of indiscipline, including ragging, bullying, or misbehaving, will lead to severe disciplinary action, including expulsion from the college.
- Smoking, drinking, and the use of drugs on campus are strictly prohibited.
Dress Code
- Students are required to adhere to the prescribed uniform or dress code, depending on the course and activities. Casual wear should be modest and appropriate for an academic setting.
Library Rules
- The library is a place for study and research. Students should maintain silence and avoid disruptive behavior.
- Books must be returned on time to avoid fines. A student who damages or loses library materials will be held responsible and must compensate for the loss.
Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices
- Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be switched off or kept on silent mode during lectures and academic activities.
- Use of mobile phones for non-academic purposes within the college premises is discouraged.
Use of College Property
- Students are responsible for the proper care of college property, including furniture, equipment, and other resources. Any damage will be fined, and repeat offenses may lead to further action.
- Students should ensure cleanliness in classrooms, labs, and common areas.
Examination Rules
- Students must follow all examination guidelines set by the college and university. Cheating, plagiarism, or any unfair means during examinations will result in strict disciplinary action.
- Students must bring their college identity card to the examination hall.
Cultural and Extracurricular Activities
- Students are encouraged to participate in various cultural, sports, and extracurricular activities organized by the college.
- Participation should not interfere with academic responsibilities. Students must seek prior permission for involvement in college events during class hours.
Hostel Rules (If Applicable)
- Students residing in the hostel must follow the hostel rules regarding curfew timings, visitor policies, and room maintenance.
- Violations of hostel rules may result in disciplinary action or termination of hostel accommodation.
Anti-Ragging Policy
- RPS College maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form. Students found guilty of ragging or encouraging ragging will face immediate suspension or expulsion, as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Leave and Absence
- Students must seek prior approval from the concerned faculty or principal for any leave of absence.
- Frequent absenteeism without valid reasons may result in disciplinary action.
Grievance Redressal
- A Grievance Redressal Committee is in place to address any student complaints or issues related to academic or non-academic matters.
- Students can approach the committee in case of any difficulties or disputes, and their grievances will be resolved in a fair and timely manner.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
- Students wishing to avail themselves of scholarships or financial aid must submit the necessary documentation on time and comply with the guidelines for eligibility.
Smoking, Drugs, and Alcohol
- Smoking, drinking alcohol, and drug use are strictly prohibited on the college campus. Students found violating this rule will face expulsion or other severe penalties.
Campus Safety
- Students are expected to cooperate with college authorities to maintain a safe and secure campus environment.
- Any incidents of theft, violence, or any form of harassment should be immediately reported to the campus security or the administration.
